When speaking about the charms of a Sagittarius, one would say that Sagittarius are simple but meticulous, humorous but romantic, easygoing but understanding, and a tonne of other attractive adjectives that would make any girl who has fallen for them unable to go back. Kang Daniel himself, a true Sagittarius, is like that as well - filled with charms to the point that nobody would possibly be able to get “bored” of his charms.
Sagittarius are optimistic people and our Kang Daniel is definitely someone with a positive outlook on the world around him. As long as you see the bright smile that is always present on his lips, your soul will automatically be filled with happiness. It is not difficult to catch him smiling widely with a reason one could not possibly find humor in, like when fans jokingly said “our Daniel would probably even laugh for a whole if he sees leaves falling”. Or when a fan asked him in a fansign whether he lived for the present or the future, and almost instantly Daniel replied, “I live for the future”. It’s true that Daniel did not have the opportunity to experience a normal childhood like others his age, living in difficult standards and being bullied, but when met with such question, he easily answered that he cared more about the future than things that have happened in the past. A Sagittarius that is so optimistic one might say he is naive.
I once read somewhere that Sagittarius boys, no matter where they go, are loved because of a “natural born exasperation”, because they easily get along with unfamiliar environments. Before, I usually only read horoscopes and didn’t think twice, but looking back at the year, Kang Daniel kept proving that what I had read was correct. Of course, all members of Wanna One love Daniel and each other, so I’ll talk about relations outside of Wanna One. Kang Daniel participated in a reality show (IDOTB), shooting it with hyungs and sunbaes in the industry that he has only met for the first time. Even though they were only shooting together for a short time frame, it seemed that Daniel became really close with all the other members. If he saw Xiumin at a festival, Daniel will run over and greet him; he also went on a trip to Busan with actor Kim Minseok (and if the latter had never posted a photo on SNS then nobody would’ve known they were that close). Or recently, at the MMAs, Daniel pulled Loco hyung over next to him and the two talked for really long… Any staff member who used to work with Daniel would say that they really like him, and it’s probably the small moments, like showing off his new hair color to his bodyguard or sharing an ice cream with a backstage staff, are the simplest examples of him being loved wherever he goes.
Sagittarius are also people with great ambitions, people who will try their hardest to achieve their dreams and satisfy their passions. The young boy Kang Daniel responded wholeheartedly as follows when asked the question “What is your dream?”: back in the days when I worked part-time at a barbecue restaurant, when I looked up at the screens showing music shows, I had the thought that “I want to be like that too… to stand on that stage”. The young boy had answered shyly but the moment he began the show, he proved himself to be a blackhorse, laughing all the time but also wanting to show his best self to everyone like all the others. Dare to dream and dare to achieve. Kang Daniel back then had practiced to the point his throat was sore, and sometimes even injured himself so harshly that his limbs had to be in casts; Kang Daniel back then had to put up with hate because of his tough looks, “who would vote for that kid?”; but it is that Kang Daniel that has given us the Kang Daniel of today, a famous and guaranteed to be more successful Kang Daniel. He was hardworking and charming and used that to prove himself to his advantage, and has made the whole of South Korea acknowledge him!
Daniel also carries within him a straightforwardness and truthfulness that prevalently exists in Archers. Normally, Daniel, when around his hyungs, would be a “little puppy wagging his tail following his hyungs” and full of aegyo; when playing with little kids, he would blend in and hang out with them like they were the same age. But don’t let that make you think he will just laugh everything off. Kang Daniel will not hesitate to give criticism where it is due! Once, when Daniel was team leader, he did not shy away from telling another trainee off for their lack of commitment to the team and required that they changed.
To talk about the free-spirit of the Sagittarius, Daniel would be the representative for generosity and freedom. It is difficult to find an idol with such a busy schedule who is able to go out to explore, but Kang Daniel will be able to use the small breaks given to him in between schedules to do just that. Nielie once went with his chingu JaeHwan to skateboard at the Han River park; he also went skydiving with his dongsaengs Jinyoung and Jihoon right after a concert finished; and he even used his 24 hour break like a 48 hour one to go skateboarding in Gwangalli with Woojin and the gang. In between a life one could not possibly find space to breathe in, Daniel is still able to find time to do what he enjoys… The harmony he creates between work life and daily life is really inspiring for others.
And finally, towards us fans. The people who belong to the Sagittarius constellation are witty and can spread happiness everywhere. This is undeniable, especially for Kang Daniel. Over a year with Niel has proved that he brings positive energy to all of us. Whether it be that we are stuck in traffic after a hard day, as long as we pull our phones out to look at the time and end up seeing Daniel’s face in the lockscreen, it is as if the troubles just went away. After a tiring day at school, under the pressure of studying, we can just go home and read news or watch videos of Daniel and all the stress will disappear. Even random feelings of annoyances can be replaced by sunshine in the heart once we read the cheesy but romantic lines that Kang Daniel has said from fanaccs…
